Vera cecilia leme

Light. Space. Architecture.

Vera Cecilia was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1954 where she lived until 1980. While studying architecture and urbanism at the University Mackenzie of São Paulo, she worked at the office of Aurelio Martinez Flores.

After graduating in 1980, she moved to Florence to follow a course of Design at UIA, international university of art, and worked part-time in the office of Pierluigi Spadolini.

In 1982, she moved to Rome. She worked in the office of Fabrizio Cocchia in Rome participating in projects such as the design of the Sport Centre and the Multiuse Centre of Capri; the expansion project of the school of Biological Sciences of Naples; the project for the reconstruction of areas hit by the earthquake of 1980 in Naples.

She revalidated her degree in architecture at the “University La Sapienza of Rome”.

Since 1990, she has her own studio. Her work has interests in many fields, residential, forniture, social and urban development.

Space and natural light are the main features of her design philosophy, give life to essential, respond to requests of different sizes, emphasising the potential of each place and situation, and following the principles of sustainability are her creative process.
